Had she lived, my grandmother, Lillian Buchanan Post, would have been 123 years old today. Here are a few pictures of the grand lady and a poem, written by her son, Leslie L. Post.
I found the poem among his things after he passed away in 2015.

In Memory of
Lillian B. Post
27 Feb 1903 - 20 April 1999
I didn't sit at your beside dear Mother
Nor had to see your life depart;
But when I knew that you were gone,
It just broke my heart.
No one knows my longing,
and no one sees me weep;
I shed my tears from an aching heart,
while others are asleep.
Some may forget you,
now that you are gone,
but I'll always remember,
no matter how long.
Here she is with five of her seven children:

My grandmother was a remarkable woman. I attribute my love of books to her. She almost always had one at hand. She is one of the few women I know who can truly be called a "lady."
Here is a picture of the crowd on hand to celebrate her 80th birthday.
And finally, one of her and dad (Leslie L. Post) ten years later in 1993:
Happy Birthday, Grandma,
You are not forgotten.
